Sleeping Bear Dunes

Beth was raised in a large family of 9 children with two additional cousins by a single mother. Her mother instilled the love and passion for music, creativity, and artistic expression to her children as they were growing up, each child playing a string instrument. They were a small orchestra! From a young age, Beth was equally passionate and talented about the visual arts.

Beth’s life’s journey brought her to Platte Lake in the early 1990s where she was captivated by the wonders and beauty of the Sleeping Bear Dunes area. She has been painting nature landscapes of this abundantly beautiful area for 30 years. She and her husband Ed raised 3 daughters, spending their summers at Platte Lake.

Her watercolors resonate with her love for nature with a unique expression of her own. Each piece of artwork is created with a loose and light feeling with strong lines to accent its direction. The result is a magical expression with a “stained glass glow” to her paintings. She shares a piece of herself with you in her natural landscapes.
